Fox News host Sean Hannity has issued a warning that if his hunch about being under surveillance is correct, he is planning on fighting back.
Hannity had previously said that he believes he was among the many Americans whose identity was “unmasked” by the Obama administration in its final year before President Donald Trump was inaugurated.
On Monday, he tweeted a messaged that could mean he is getting ready for action.
Unmasking refers to revealing the identity of an American citizen whose communications are caught up in an existing surveillance of a foreign target. Recently, several Obama administration officials, including former national security adviser Susan Rice, have been accused of “unmasking” the identities of hundreds of Americans as part of an effort to surveil the Trump campaign.
“I am going to sanction the biggest lawsuit that I possibly can with the biggest attorneys in the country so we can do something to stop the shredding of the Constitution,” Hannity said in an Aug. 4 radio broadcast, noting that he has on “pretty good authority” that he was under surveillance and that his name was “unmasked.”
